Well this became my favorite wine shop in the Twin Cities over the last 2 years and sad to see them closing today but Michael Miller and the Deli are going to move on to the next chapter over time. Well if you are going to close and I am there then we going to go out with a bang. My two whites I opened for friends were fine but the Vietti Barolo was off the charts.
CellarTracker! Sunfish Cellars Last Call
- 2024 Weingut Josef Leitz Rüdesheimer Drachenstein Riesling Dragonstone – Germany, Rheingau
Last day at Sunfish and $11.06 so opened for some friends. A touch of sweetness with floral, peach, pear, sour apple and lime. Nice acidity and pleasant. (87 pts.) - 2022 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis – France, Burgundy, Chablis
Drank on the last official day of Sunfish Cellars in Lilydale. Very good wine with stone, minerals, orange peel, lemon, dust and white flowers. For $30 a solid effort and would enjoy a glass anytime. (90 pts.) - 2015 Vietti Barolo Ravera – Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
Day 1: Well poured this at the last official day at Sunfish Cellars/ I Nonni Restaurant. My crew were the last to drink wine there. Shared with Michael Miller who is trying to relocate the shop. This is super fragrant and fabulous right now with another 15 years of aging. Floral, white pepper, spice, tar, leather, raspberries, blue currants, mild smoke and wood. Super complex wine and 2 minute finish. One of the best Barolo’s I have tasted in years and wish they had another bottle but last one. 96 points (96 pts.) - 2020 Source & Sink Red Field Blend Sonoma Valley – USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley
Cheap tasting with candied fruit, dirt and a short finish. $5 closeout and you much. (75 pts.)
Thanks for sharing
