Taste Washington Seminar: The Fresh Factor

Well sat in for about 30 minutes on this one and tasted through the lineup. By far the least impressive of the 3 seminars and I would have been disappointed in paying full price for this one.

  • N.V. Tirriddis Brut Rosé R. 4 – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley
Glasvin Universal. Clean with red apples, spices, floral and minerals. Refreshing and flavorful. (90 pts.)
  • 2024 Wautoma Springs Grenache Blanc – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley
Glasvin Universal. Lemon, stone, apricots and dried flowers. Medium finish. (88 pts.)
  • 2024 RM Wineries Albariño Caliche – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley
Glasvin Universal. My least favorite at this tasting. Lacks fruit and a bit thin. Grass, flowers, lemon zest and minerals. Short finish. (84 pts.)
  • 2023 Savage Grace Wines Grüner Veltliner Underwood Mountain Vineyard – USA, Oregon/Washington, Columbia Gorge
Glasvin Universal. An interesting wine with bubble gum, spices, floral, orange peel and earth. A fun wine that would allow for conversation. (89 pts.)
  • 2024 Sonder x Sage Rat Nebbiolo Watermelon Cat Carbonic – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Rattlesnake Hills
Glasvin Universal. Drinkable but the carbonic thing is not for me. Chery, floral, earth and spices. Getting a metallic finish. (85 pts.)
  • 2023 lagriōth Pinot Noir – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Lake Chelan
Glasvin Universal. Ok and drinkable but for $50 Willamette all day. Earth, pepper, spices and light fruit. Short finish. Pass. (85 pts.)
  • 2023 Hoquetus Wine Co Cabernet Franc Amphora Blue Mountain Vineyard – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
Glasvin Universal. The best at the tasting. Fun wine with cherry, stone, dust, rose petals and blueberries. Medium finish. (91 pts.)
  • 2022 Esja Cabernet Franc – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Rattlesnake Hills
Glasvin Universal. Nice overall with cherry, funk, spices, earth bell pepper. Medium finish. (90 pts.)
