Well we all know Napa and Bordeaux produce the best Cabernet Sauvignon/Blends on the planet. Preparation is key and these rocked last night at Kincaid’s in Bloomington.
My brother and family were in town and we enjoyed these 3 great wines and fun to get together.

- N.V. Palmer & Co Champagne Brut – France, Champagne
For sure more fruit forward than most Champagne’s. Apple, pear, lemon and kiwi. Adds some minerality on the short to medium finish. Very clean and easy to drink. Nothing too exciting but well made. (90 pts.) - 2018 Walter Scott Chardonnay Seven Springs Vineyard – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola – Amity Hills
Excellent. Matchstick, spice, lemon, white flowers, dust, sour apple, minerals and stone. (94 pts.)
- 2010 Anderson’s Conn Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve – USA, California, Napa Valley
Off the charts. Cherry, plum, spices, menthol, dust, dark chocolate and wood. Best bottle to date. (95 pts.)
- 2000 Château Léoville Barton – France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Julien
Excellent showing. Natural cork in perfect shape thanks to the Durand. 3 hour decant. Funk, mushroom, raspberry, cherry, dust, dried flowers, earth and minerals. Needed time for sure and these will drink well for 15 plus more years. Great wine. (96 pts.)
