Result of a Crush kills two overprice Napa Wines

When in doubt Result of a Crush! I paid about the same for the Foley Merlot via auction and it has been good so can’t complain but the Foley Mt. Veeder at $80 is terrible and could have had 3 Result 18s. Here are the results (results).

  • 2018 Result of a Crush Syrah The Unnamed Series – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (5/31/2024)
Day 1: Killing the two much more expensive Foley wines that I might not even finish. Green olives, stone, raspberries, bramble, white pepper and floral notes. Super complex wine and hard to believe these are under $25. 93 points (93 points)
  • 2013 Robert Foley Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder – USA, California, Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder (5/31/2024)
Day 1: 3 of 4. Drink now. Menthol, red currants, earth, light spices and dust. Not nearly as good as the first bottle and not worth the $80 via auction. 90 points (90 points)
  • 2013 Robert Foley Merlot – USA, California, Napa Valley (5/31/2024)
Day 2: The worst bottle of the lot which is still drinkable but tired. Tobacco, leather, mild spices, sour cherry and earth. Shorter finish. Drinkable but not a bottle to right home about. 86 points (86 points)
