One of the better weeks for MN football. Gophers with the bit Outback Bowl Win and now the Vikings with the improbable win in New Orleans. Two wines that got me through the day today are featured.
2015 Tenuta di Arceno Il Fauno Di Arcanum Toscana IGT – Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (1/3/2020)
Day 1: At $21.99 an every day drinker! This is an outstanding bottle out of the gate which was not the case on a few recently. Funk, minerals, dark berries, oak, cigar and menthol. Might be the best pop and pour wine in a while. Medium to long finish and excellent concentration. 94 points
Day 2: Very nice but not the same day 1 experience. Menthol, spice, minerals, dark berries and mild oak. Day 1 offered a beautiful funk element. This is very enjoyable but not on par. 92 points
Day 3: Red currants, spice, earth, leather, mild oak, vanilla and minerals. Medium plus finish and drinking really well. 93 points
Recommendation: Same as all bottles of this wine. Buy it especially at $21.99 locally. (94 points)
2016 Sea Slopes Fort Ross Winery Chardonnay – USA, California, Sonoma County, Fort Ross – Seaview (1/4/2020)

Day 2: Tropical fruits, minerals, mild oak, stone and orange peel. Medium finish. 90 points (90 points)
