This event came together due to the fact a club member when he hosts pre signs up who he wants at his events. That is not cool and if you are going to do that then make it a private event. Anyway my friend Jeff and I decided to provide all the wines for Walla Walla 2.0 at Tonya’s. This was a whose who lineup of Walla Walla and some top wines of the year candidates for sure.
- 2022 Saviah Cellars Syrah Reserve Walla Walla Valley – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
Brian opened this as a bonus wine for the walla event I am hosting. Solid for sure with bacon, dark fruits, spice, minerals, black pepper and roasted brisket. Bigger style and should improve over time. 92 points
Bonus bottle at the end that I opened only because my brother was at the winery today and liked this one. (92 pts.)

- 2010 Reynvaan Family Vineyards Syrah The Unnamed – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
Going into this tasting based on my reviews of the wine I thought this would be wine of the night. Well finished 2nd. My wine of the night an one of the better values in Walla Walla even now via auction. Natural cork with white pepper, plum, earth, spice, green olives and tar. Medium to long finish and balanced effort. Outstanding and will be seeking more out on auction. 12 points (My top wine) (95 pts.) - 2012 MTR Productions Syrah Memory Found – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
So this was a hit at the tasting tonight. Blue currants, spice, menthol, black pepper, blackberries and floral notes. Medium plus finish and sad to see it my last bottle but will seek out more via auction as this has another 5 plus years of enjoyment. 5 points (94 pts.)

- 2013 Cayuse Syrah Cailloux Vineyard – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
Well this showed well tonight. White pepper, spice, blue currants, tar, minerals, stone and earth. A savory wine with medium plus finish. 12 points (my third place wine) (94 pts.) - 2013 Leonetti Cellar Reserve Walla Walla Valley – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
I thought this would finish 2nd tonight and finished 1st. My 2nd place wine. Is this amazing and blows Quilceda out of the water. Dark purple and natural cork featuring coffee beans, black currants, menthol, mild oak, spice, blueberries and earth. A big, powerful wine done that right way. Could be better in a few years. Wine of the night. 19 points (my 2nd place wine). (94 pts.) - 2015 K Vintners Syrah Royal City – USA, Washington
Well one of K’s top wines and no one liked this and got no top 3 votes. Motor City Kitty is much better. Smoke, earth, light fruits, dried flowers and dust. Just nothing exciting here and a boring wine. By far last place. (84 pts.)

- 2016 Reynvaan Family Vineyards Syrah Stonessence – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
Well this showed great but against some really tough competition. Smoked meat, earth, black olives, stone, minerals, and floral notes. A savory wine with medium plus finish. 6 points (93 pts.)

- 2021 Result of a Crush Syrah The Unnamed Series – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
Well I knew this would get some votes tonight even against the top wines of Walla Walla. Black pepper, floral, earth, black olives, spice and earth. Picks up some tar notes on the finish. 6 points (93 pts.)
