Well if you asked me what was the sale two weeks ago I would have told you South Lyndale Liquors. Unfortunately for them a better sale came along and beat them out for the number one spot.

1010 Washington Wine & Spirits has been on my radar but I have not bought anything from them once they bought out Sorella’s which was a top five wine shop in town. That change last weekend with their fall sale.

There are some serious discounts on amazing wines on this sale. I have posted on some of them here.

I highly recommend you hit up their sale before it ends this Sunday, November 10.

Many Twin Cities Wine Drinkers have favorite local wine shops but I have being doing this for 20 years. If you are into quality wine trust my palate as I understand fine wine. If a wine sucks I will let you know!!!

How did I miss this wine on sale at $24.99?

2014 SIXTO Chardonnay Roza Hills (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley

Currently Drinking these 2:

2015 Domaine Christophe Cordier Mâcon-Charnay Vieilles Vignes – France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Mâcon-Charnay (11/7/2019)
Day 1: Sampled at Hennepin Lake earlier in the day and bought at 1010 Washington Wine & Spirits for much less. $14.99 on sale. This is really nice with saline, shells, orange peel and chalk. Short to medium finish. Picks up some nice Carmel elements on the finish. Very complex for a wine under $20.00! 91 points (91 points) $14.99

2014 Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cépages – USA, California, Sonoma County (11/5/2019)
Day 1: High hopes for this wine and got it at a stellar price! Pop and pour. Tight on initial opening with heavy spices and tannins. Poured another glass and this features mint, spice, dark fruits, oak and earth. A big wine with plenty of future left! Would not recommend opening this wine now but already did. 90-93 point potential. No rating right now. Will see what happens on day 2/3.
Day 2: Still tighter than hell. Coffee beans, black licorice, mulberries and spices. A little heat and tannic. Just not even close to ready. We will see on day 3 and 4 for this one.
Day 3: Still trying to open up but more flavor on day 3. Coffee beans, blueberries, sweet cherries, spice and oak. Medium finish. This is a bruiser still. Currently around a 90 point score.
Day 3.5: Wow this is finally opening up. Blueberries, spices, coffee beans, oak, Bing Cherries, menthol and pencil lead. This is concentrated. Medium to long finish. Will revisit this on day 4 and possibly 5. 92 points (92 points)

$44.99 (By far the lowest price in the country!!!

2016 Mount Veeder Winery Cabernet Sauvignon – USA, California, Napa Valley (10/10/2019)
Very consistent with previous vintages. Cherry, earth, black licorice and good use of oak. Drink now to 2025. (89 points) $29.99

2013 Dominus Estate (USA, California, Napa Valley) $279.00 Good price.

2014 Dominus Napanook Red (USA, California, Napa Valley) $64.99

    1. Kevin yes they have slipped. Have not been buying much from them over the last few years. A few other key players are also struggling with providing the consumer anything worth buying.

  1. Hi John Kim here. I used to attend many of your events back in the day. Do you still have the Twin Cities Wine Club?
